Three installation options

Which option suits you?

Choosing between the cloud and your own infrastructure is less a technical question than an organisational one: who looks after operations, backups and updates, and where should the data be stored?

Cloud: we operate, you work

With the cloud you need no server of your own, no maintenance windows and no separate backup. Administration, installation, updates and backups are on us, and new features arrive in the background. Your data is stored in data centres in Nuremberg and Falkenstein, Germany. You work in the browser – at your desk as well as on site, for example in the site diary.

Recurring jobs run on the server, not on your workstation: nightly processing retrieves the transactions of your bank accounts and creates due recurring invoices, so the data is up to date every morning.

Dedicated cloud: your own environment, full access

If your IT requires a separate environment or you want to extend the infrastructure, we set up a dedicated cloud. You get full administrative access and use the environment exclusively for your company.

On-premises: self-hosting on your infrastructure

With self-hosting you run kanbau on your own infrastructure. The licence fee is reduced by 10 % and there are no storage fees. Backups and maintenance are then the responsibility of you or your IT service provider. Mixing cloud and self-hosted licences is not possible.

Storage and licences

Each user licence includes 10 GB of storage – for documents and database combined. Additional cloud storage is billed per started GB and month; the price is in our price list. External partners such as tax advisers or reviewers work with data room licences, without full access. We are happy to send you the price list – request plans and pricing.

Security and access rights

Whichever option you choose, the same access rules apply:

• Module permissions per user: read, write, print, export, archive, delete and elevated rights are granted per module; permissions can be copied from one user to another.
• Project visibility and cost group restrictions: users only see the projects and cost groups released to them.
• Two-factor authentication: users protect their account with a second factor; administrators can enforce it company-wide.
• Deputies: a deputy can be set for every user.
• Archive instead of data loss: deleted main records go to the archive, and input is saved automatically.

Several companies are managed as separate clients in one installation, each with its own company name, letterhead and DATEV settings.
